This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or current student to learn some of the basics regarding the environmental consulting profession. This position will be part-time during the school year and full-time during breaks as agreed to with the successful candidate.  Please be advised that a housing stipend is not available with this position and candidates are responsible for their own transportation to and from the office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Is this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals?  Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Assisting with geologic/hydrogeologic and/or engineering calculations using computer-based technical tools;
  • Data input, tabulation, and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
  • Field support for projects including but not limited to subsurface contamination assessment, due diligence, environmental compliance and monitoring, and remediation programs. Project tasks may include soil, soil vapor and groundwater sampling, stormwater inspections, and drilling and contractor oversight.; and
  • Assisting in report and proposal preparation.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

  •  Currently registered in a Bachelor’s or Master’s university degree program in a relevant engineering discipline (required); preferred degree focus areas are environmental, civil or water resources engineering.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with ArcView, CADD, and/or Microsoft Office. (preferred)
  • Outstanding academic credentials and exceptional interpersonal, technical writing, and problem-solving skills. (required)
  • Prior OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training. (preferred but will be provided if not current)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license, reliable transportation, and satisfactory driving record to drive to project sites. (required)
